Found House IHN
Pet Support Program
Found House IHN’s Pet Support Program’s mission is to provide temporary shelter for dogs, cats, and other pets whose owners are experiencing homelessness, at-risk of losing housing, receiving inpatient care, fleeing domestic violence, or experiencing other related housing crises in the Greater Cincinnati area. This gives pet owners an opportunity to access services without having to surrender their animal, keeping the entire family together.
By providing resources that support pet owners, families are able to stay together, barriers to pet ownership are reduced, and overall household stability is strengthened. These efforts also help ease the burden on local animal shelters by decreasing the number of pets surrendered by their owners.
“… I had no home for my cat Maggie…they kept [Maggie] at [Found House IHN] until I found a home…[They] also went out of [their] way and drove to Kentucky and gave Maggie back to me. They are wonderful, and I’m so thankful…”
